Spectator Information
Important Details
The National Finals Ski-Joring races in Red Lodge always occur the second full weekend in March each year and are held on both Saturday and Sunday. The races are held at The Home Of Champions rodeo grounds located just west of town on Route 78. From Red Lodge, head west from the traffic roundabout at the fire station to get to the rodeo grounds. See the maps below. Spectators should use the main entrance gate and spectators are not allowed in the competitor area.

Watch the weather forecast and dress appropriately. If the weather is relatively warm, the grounds can get slushy or muddy. Muck boots are usually a wise choice for fashionable yet utilitarian foot wear.
Food, beverage, and swag vendors will be on site.
Outside alcoholic beverages are not allowed but
beverages may be purchased from vendors.
An ATM (automated teller machine) will be on site
in the merchandise tent.
Gates open to spectators at 10:00 a.m. each day and the races start at 11:00 am, except for the Youth Division which is run at 10:00 am. Races usually conclude around 4:00-ish each day. Tickets may be purchased at the entrance gate, but purchasing tickets in advance online is highly encouraged to save time and to relieve congestion at the entrance gate. Online tickets will be available soon.
All tickets are general admission and there are no limits on the number of tickets sold. There is a limited amount of bleacher seating available on a first come, first served basis. Bleacher seating has been expanded for 2026 but still won't accommodate all spectators. Feel free to bring a chair. Blankets may be desirable to wrap up in if the weather is cold, but don't plan on sitting on a blanket on the ground due wet ground conditions.
Races are run by divisions in the following order:
-
Youth
-
Novice
-
Snowboard

A list of contestants and their run order within the division will be posted before the races on Friday night or Saturday morning at the latest on our Facebook Page.
